Happy Raksha Bandhan?

'Men should take responsibilities for their actions and take action as their responsibility'

I sit here thinking about Raksha Bandhan wishes that I have received from my sisters, be it cousins or the adoptive sisters(munh-bola behen) and it has got me thinking about the state in which women are treated in our country. It is very sad to read about so many cases of rape, harassment and assault against women in the newspapers and on the internet sites. I restrain myself from logging into the online forum newspaper because all I can read about is the fact that women are treated like objects; objects of entertainment, slavery and sex toys. But I do not restrain anymore. For I know that this is still happening even if I am not reading it. And it will keep happening unless each one of us take actions to prevent these.

What is the use of celebrating Raksha Bandhan if we can't protect the women around us?

Has it become just a tradition that we follow each year where we get our share of the sacred thread, sweets and in return give them chocolates, toys or anything else as a token of appreciation? It is sad to see this is what it has come down to. Men should take responsibilities for their actions and men should take action as their responsibility to protect not only their sisters but any woman they know that are in harm.

I am what I am

People often ask me why I am serious, rude, grumpy or silent most of the times. I sit back and really wonder about this when someone close to me ask this. I scratch my head deep enough to show some wounds. I stress on my mind so hard that it rattles out the answer. "Its not what you want to be."

That's not the answer that i am looking for. But it doesnt stop me from wondering why am I still this way? why do I need to be this way? Why can't I be a jolly person that my father and brother are? Why do I hesitate to talk to people very freely? Why do I often end up being rude, grumpy or look to be angry? I am almost never that way with people I am really close to. Apart from one major fight, My best friend n I have never fought or argued over anything. But why cant I share the same rapport with others? Even though they are close to me? I scratch the wounds further that they show scars. Scars so deep that it horrifies me. The ones that are really very close to me know that it takes time for me to get friendly with people. But once that barrier is past, I get too emotionally attached to the person and no matter what, I trust them blindly. But still, why am I rude to them? Why am I serious with them? Why do I not talk so freely? People have said that my mere presence in a group makes it 'uncomfortable.' But what is it about me that makes them feel that?

One incident has given me an idea of what makes me who I am. One incident that typically should have had me throwing back an insulting comeback as I always do, but has got me thinking. Thinking why the person insulted me when all i was trying to do is be nice. Then it struck me! I am what I am only because when I try and be sweet to people, they insult me, hurt me or put me away. This is why I am rude to people. I am rude to them only because I expect them to insult me if I try and be sweet. I am serious and silent when in a group only to avoid being insulted. Taking that into light, I can think of so many times when I have been put down, insulted or put away from a group when all I was trying to do was to contribute to the topic of the group discussion. This has given birth to a fear inside me. Fear of being put down, that is what keeps me silent when I'm in a group.

People often ask me why I am serious, rude, grumpy or silent most of the times. Its not that I like being this way. Its just that when I try being nice to people, they insult me and put me away. I am what I am, not because of what I choose to be. But because of what Im scared to feel.

Love: Possession v/s Emotion

We often refer to an emotion as 'Love'. I love my parents, I love my job, I love my Dog, I love my wife/husband. These are things that we possess. But very often, we also love things that we don't possess. Like a car we always wanted, a place that we always wanted to visit, an actor or a character etc. Some of these things, we can never possess. But we still love them! We love so many things knowing that we cant possess them.

We fall in love with a person too in our life. We fall in love with them and then start building dreams around them. We dream of wedding them, we dream of building a house, a family, a future with them. This is a love that we want to possess.

Why?

Why do we have to love a person and always have to want to possess them? Have we ever thought of why we loved them in the first place? The answer to that 8 out of 10 times is the way that person looks. The way they look, the way they dress, their eyes, their smile, their hair, their glare all add up to the way they look. Then we start loving their character, their behavior, their attitude. Then we want to be around them, to talk to them, to laugh with them, to cry with them, we want them to share their feelings with us, we want them to be with us always. But have we ever thought of what we really want from them? NO! I am not referring to sex you pervert! I am referring to happiness. Yes, happiness!

And im talking about their happiness, not ours. We want to keep them by our side so that we can keep them happy. We want to gift them flowers, chocolates, soft toys etc to make them happy. But why are we heart-broken when that person wants to be with someone else? Her wanting to be with someone else means her being happy with him. Isnt that what we want? For her to be happy? Then why do we still try and win her heart? instead, why dont we pray to god to keep her happy with him? Aren't we selfish to say that she has to be ours? she will be happy with me and not with him?

People think that love is all about possession. to possess the person they love. For me, love is all about emotion. Love is an emotion that binds 2 people together. We don't have to necessarily be with each other to share love. We just need to pray that the other person is happy.

Think about it!

The Day Of Reckoning

Chapter 1: Zion!

A pale, lean youth, is lying on the ground and he slowly opens his eyes. All he can see is white, everywhere. He takes out his cell phone. But it has gone dead. He doesn’t know where he is. He does not know how he got there. He is troubled in his mind. He is thinking to himself, ‘What have I gotten myself into now?’ He is trying to think what he was doing before he slept. All he could remember was that yesterday was 4th of November and it was his best friend’s birthday. He had a couple of drinks and had passed out. He can’t remember where he slept. And does not have a clue how he got here.

He gets to his feet, dusts off his jeans. He wants to find out where he is. But he can’t see anything. Everything is white and there is only one source of light. He thought it looks like the Sun. But it was not as bright as it was. He then, laughs and yells out ‘Hey guys, it is not funny anymore’. But no one answers. He wants to find the door to the room and wants to get out. He is tired and hungry. It feels as though he had been sleeping for years. He wants to go back home. He is walking hoping he would find the end of the room. But he can’t. He realizes it is not a prank played by his friends. He starts running in vain.

Suddenly he stops. And right in front of him, 3 weird looking humans (or that’s what he thinks they are) appear out of thin air. He is shocked. There were 2 women and 1 man. Their faces had no expression at all. But there was a glow in their face. They looked like angels to Dhruv. He suddenly was scared. He thought he was dead. And this was the path to heaven. He grew curious. Then, he spoke.

Dhruv: uh, do you guys understand English?

The weird man: Yes. We know all languages spoken on earth. My name is Naum. We are Zionians. And you are on our planet.

Dhruv: What? Where am i?

Naum: You are on the planet Zion.

Dhruv: well, I have learnt that Zion means heaven. Is this heaven?

Naum: All of your questions will be answered later. First, we must take you to our father.

Saying that, Naum and the other 2 ladies grab Dhruv and suddenly, everything goes blur and they let go of him. He falls on the ground with a thud and the 3 Zionians calmly landed on their feet as though gravity did not affect them. It looked to Dhruv like he was in the same place as they were before. But the only change was that there was another man standing a couple of yards away from them. He looked hugely built. He turned to Dhruv. He spoke softly though he had a husky voice.

Huge Zionian: Hello son. My name is Maximus. I am the leader of Zion. We are a planet much like earth. But we are 3 galaxies away from earth.

Dhruv: wow. Then how did you fly me across 3 galaxies in one night? And how did you get me here?

Maximus: (showing signs of facial expression for the first time) Hahaha! We did not fly you here in one night.

Dhruv: What? Then what is the date today?

Maximus: according to the calendar that you follow, we are on 11th December and the year is 2012.

Dhruv: Oh my god! We have been flying for a month? And how is it that I was asleep for so many days?

Maximus: I need you to calm down. I will answer your questions. But first, I think you are hungry after your long journey. So what do you want to eat?

Dhruv: huh? Ok. What do you guys eat?

Maximus: We do not eat anything. We convert the energy that we get from sunlight. But I can offer you whatever you want.

Dhruv: Ok. How about a nice big sandwich?

Maximus, without even moving, holds out his arm. And to Dhruv’s surprise, there is a plate in maximus’ hand and in it is a nice, juicy looking sandwich. Dhruv, thanking Maximus, pounces at the sandwich as if he had never eaten before. All this while, Maximus (without any expression) is calmly watching the boys act. And then, he speaks:

Maximus: Do you really think you are eating something?

Dhruv: What do you mean? I am eating the sandwich you gave me.

Maximus: Think again son! There is no sandwich. (the sandwich miraculously disappears from dhruv’s hands).

Dhruv: If there was no sandwich, how is it that I am actually feeling full?

Maximus: when God created us, he made Zionians and humans similar. He gave us a similar physical structure. And our brain patterns are also similar. He also gave us the power of evolution. A human can evolve to gain strength or powers that he always thought was super natural. Human brain is far capable of doing things than what it is doing now. You need to wake your brain up completely. Though most human brain patterns are similar, the special power that they can wake in them is different. Some learn how to fly, some can travel faster, some can teleport and so on. But we found one human brain on earth which is far more superior than the rest. In fact, it is so superior that it can evolve faster and stronger than that of the Zionians. We found the secret of evolution 3 million years ago. Since then, each child which is born in Zion is able to evolve in their lifetime. But strangely, only 4 of us have mastered the art of death. We have been visiting earth for a long time. And we have seen potentiality in them. There have been so many humans who evolved. I think you will understand it better because of your mythology. There have been humans reported to be very strong, some, immortals and some with special powers. But we have never seen a brain pattern so strong as we have found in this case. This brain is capable of mastering almost all powers known to us.

Your brain, my son is the most superior brain we have come across.

Dhruv: what? My brain? You are kidding me right?

Maximus: You still haven’t realized it yet. But you will learn.

Dhruv: so will you teach me how to evolve?

Maximus: Evolution is a process that cannot be taught. But it is merely a process that takes place in one’s life. You will have to learn it yourself. And I hope it happens soon.

Dhruv: What do you mean?

Maximus: have you ever wondered how the Egyptians built the massive pyramids without having any sort of technology? Have you ever wondered how a small army of troy could fall a massive army like Greece? Have you ever wondered how Raavan was able to make an aircraft long before the invention of your aircrafts? We were there when Jesus was crucified. The humans think that it was an eclipse and an earthquake that happened when Jesus was crucified. But it was one of our spacecraft landing on earth. The answer to all these questions, are that we have been visiting Earth for a long time and we have been acting as advisers and also aiding the humans. But we couldn’t be helping everyone because we were not meant to be on earth. So we helped and advised a select few of the humans. Only those who had learnt the art of evolution.

Dhruv: Ah! So that’s the deal. I have always wondered. And earlier when you said that there was no sandwich, how did you get it?

Maximus: It is true that there was no sandwich. Your brain told you there was. So when you pretended to eat the sandwich that was never there, your brain sent signals to your stomach to act satisfied. Do you think you are breathing air? Haven’t you noticed that there are no plants or trees here? Then how is it that you are breathing?

Thinking about it, Dhruv suddenly feels the lack of air and feels suffocated.

Maximus( with a smile on his face): Just think son. Just think that there is air. And you will be able to breathe.

Suddenly, Dhruv feels the air back in his lungs. He feels different. He can feel each drop of blood flow in his body. He feels stronger. He feels much wiser. The laws of science seems like a joke to him. He is confident that he can break the barrier of sounds, he can defy gravity, he can go anywhere without moving a single part of his body. He suddenly realizes.

Dhruv: Hey! Why did you tell me that it is better if I evolved soon?

Maximus: So, that did catch your attention!

And as he smiles, he raises his hand and head towards the sky... (to be continued)

Rush of blood

Woke up with a smile on my face,

Feels like I f***in won a race.

Just look at your face by my side,

Holding you, gives me pride….

Just hope that we stay together,

Like this, on forever.

Like cocaine on a f***in sled,

You give a rush of blood to my head…

Never again wanna get back low,

Cos I know il wake up tomorrow.

And not find you by my side,

That will blow my f***in mind like a tide.

Sugar girl, don’t be so mean,

I swear to never yell or scream.

Our love is like crystal meth,

Gives a rush of blood to my head.

Illusions

The following post is an insight into my though which is right now psychic. I might be wrong and science must have some evidence that what i am thinking is wrong. But then, read the post, close your eyes and ask yourself the same question that i have been asking. What does your mind tell you???

"What you see with your eyes are just illusions.... What you feel from within is the real picture....."

The above is a quote from an anonymous poster on one of the 'cool quotes' website. This has got me thinking. Can it be true? Are what we see with our eyes real? Or is it just an image that our mind creates. Does our mind project only things that we want to see??? I still dont have an answer.

I was thinking this and i just happened to pass by a mirror. I looked at myself. It suddenly struck me. Am i looking at an image of myself that others can see? Or do i look differently to others? Do i look the same to all of them? Or do i look different to each Individual??? Well.... i still dont have an answer.

This drove me to think further. I was getting a little irritated with myself for not coming to a conclusion!!! Are you really what you look like? Or is skin, flesh, blood & body just a vessel? Just close your eyes and think for a minute what you look like... Is it the same thing what you see in a mirror? Most of us would say yes. Now.... Take all thoughts out of your head... clear your mind.... and Think that you are someone else. Your whole structure changes..... Your imagination gives you the image that you want to see......

Do the geometrical shapes look the same to everyone? Is the triangle/square the same in everyone's eyes? Or is it just an image that our soul portrays?

There are lots of instances where people around the world saw an image of Jesus/animals/human face on a bark of a tree, on a rock, on even a wall. Is it really there? or is it just that our mind portrays the image?

So many times, we break our heads into wondering what a 3d image shows..... But is it really there? or is it just an illusion that our mind creates? Ever wondered if your dog can see the image what you see? Or is it only us, humans?

Mind and soul are very complex and complicated part of us. We do not know how it works. It is a master of its own.

Next time you look at yourself in the mirror, look closely.... You might look at another image of yourself........

Illusions.... Are everywhere..... It is layered.... It only complicates our mind.... Our thoughts..... But complications are good..... It gives us a new dimension to look at.......

What you reap is what you sow!!!!

Most of you would have heard of the saying 'As you sow, so you reap.' It mostly is true..... But have you thought of the vice versa??? 'What you reap is what you sow'.....

They say that a kid is like a mirror..... It reflects what you give it. So in that instance, what you reap is what you sow from the point of view of the child. You must be wondering if you know someone like that.... I'l give you an example.

Take Kurt Cobain for one. His parents divorced when Kurt was only 8. This led to a huge change in his behaviour. He became more defiant and withdrawn. His mother got into another relationship after the divorce with a man who was abusive in nature. Kurt witnessed domestic violence almost everyday and this led to his aggression..... At an interview, he once said

'I remember feeling ashamed, for some reason. I was ashamed of my parents. I couldn't face some of my friends at school anymore, because I desperately wanted to have the classic, you know, typical family. Mother, father. I wanted that security, so I resented my parents for quite a few years because of that.'

Most of his songs are a reflection of the pain, the anger, the depression that Kurt Cobain went through....... This shows that what he reaped, that he sowed......

Every minute things in life causes major changes in your life.....

You might be pissed off one whole day just for the fact that the coffee you had with your breakfast was bad. As a result, your output towards everything that you do on that day is negative. Have you ever felt angry/upset at something but you don't know what? Ever felt uncomfortable without knowing what is it that is pricking your brains? Well.... for all you know, it could have been your favourite hero dying in one of the movies you watched last night..... It could be some song that you heard on the radio while you were having breakfast...... It might be something someone said sometime ago....... But all this leads to you being absent minded/angry/sad/disturbed for the rest of the day.......

So now.... Think again.........

'What you reap..... Is what you sow...'
